Lab 3 - Values and Ethics

Q Value and Ethics Lab 3 Due: 8/30/2020 July by 11:59pm Don’t forget to submit your teammate evaluation! You are board members of your respective companies. The time has come to select a new CEO for the company. Given the current economic climate, this is not a decision to be taken lightly. Before reviewing candidate portfolios, you all need to decide on the most important characteristics your future CEO should possess. These characteristics should be based on your company’s values and mission statement. Your task is to find the best fit in terms of your firm’s values and CEO candidate attributes. Successful completion of this lab includes the following tasks. All answers should be clearly numbered and thoroughly explained in a Word document. 1. Identify the company of your choice. Please mutually select any real company of your choice. (Hint: You probably want to pick a company with a website that tells you a lot about the company so you do not have to dig too much for information.) 2. Using the description of your company, identify the company’s values and goals. You can visit company websites to find this information. 3. Identify what qualities/traits /values your next CEO needs to have. This establishes your hiring criteria. 4. Review the candidates for the position. (Candidate profiles are available in the candidate profile file in the Activity 3 folder.) 5. Identify your top candidate by ranking all six candidates against your criteria. 6. As a team, come up with five hypothetical interview questions that you would ask your Top Candidate during their interview. Your questions should be ones that you could use to help you better determine if your candidate fits with your company’s qualities/traits/values. Complete a Word document that answers the following questions: a. What is the name of your company? b. What are the company’s Vision, Missions, and Goals? c. What were your qualities/traits/values identified for your CEO candidate? How do they relate to your company’s values and mission statement? d. Rank order the candidates top to bottom (1 is your top choice, 6 is your last choice). What candidate did you select? How does the candidate compare to the criteria you set? (Did they fit all the criteria, or did you have to adjust after reading the profiles?) Explain why you did not select the other candidates? What was the deciding factor(s) between your top two candidates? e. List your five interview questions? f. Explain how your interview questions relate to your company values and mission.
